Community 1st Credit Union began in 1936 as Dain Employees Federal Credit Union when a group of Dain Manufacturing employees dropped their plan savings plan and came together forming a cooperative where they could safely deposit and borrow money. In 1948, Dain was renamed Deere Employees Federal Credit Union and functioned to serve only 300 members. Since then, Community 1st Credit Union has grown significantly, now serving over 40,000 members in 57 counties in Iowa and 8 in Missouri.
With the support of our members and community, Community 1st Credit Union will continue to grow, but will always remain down to earth and close to home.
